Sussex Regatta Delivers Two Days of Outstanding Racing at BMYC

Published 17:56 on 8 Oct 2026

Brighton Marina Yacht Club was proud to host this year's Sussex Regatta, bringing together some of the region's strongest sailing for two highly competitive days of racing.

With a fleet full of well-prepared boats and fierce competition across the racecourse, sailors enjoyed challenging conditions and closely fought racing throughout the weekend. The standard of sailing was exceptional, with competitors battling hard for every position and providing a fantastic spectacle both on and off the water.

The regatta was about much more than racing. Back ashore, competitors and visitors were treated to excellent food and hospitality from Marilyn and her team, whose new clubhouse offering received a warm welcome from sailors and spectators alike.

Saturday evening's social programme helped make the event particularly memorable, with DJ Jez providing live tunes and creating a fantastic atmosphere as crews relaxed and shared stories from the day's racing.

BMYC would like to thank all competitors, volunteers, race officials and supporters who helped make the combined regatta such a success. Events like these showcase the strength of sailing across Sussex and the wonderful sense of community that exists between our local clubs.

Full race results can be found on the Sussex Regatta website, while a gallery of photos from the weekend is available in the BMYC Members Facebook Group.

We look forward to welcoming competitors back to Brighton Marina again soon.
