Dieppe Dash 2026 - Event Report
Published 01:00 on 3 May 2026
Not every Dieppe Dash serves up perfect sailing conditions, and this year the Channel had other ideas. Variable winds, thick fog patches and plenty of engine hours made for a testing passage but that's the Dash, and that's why we love it.
A handful of crews made the pragmatic call and turned for home, but the fleet pushed on, and those who did were rewarded with a warm welcome on the other side. None more so than A D'Hoc, who capped off a determined performance by crossing the finish line under sail to take IRC honours - a result that earned them every bit of the applause that followed.
The awards ceremony was everything it should be: well-attended, relaxed, and good fun, with local dignitaries and BMYC's supporters from Dieppe joining the celebrations. A special thank you to Plain Sailing Chandlery, whose generous sponsorship this year meant Racing and Cruising crews alike went home with a well-deserved haul of prizes. The kind of evening that reminds you the Dieppe Dash is as much about the destination as the race to get there.
