BMYC enjoyed another outstanding weekend at the 2026 Women's Open Keelboat Championship (WOKC), with two club boats flying the flag and showcasing the strength, talent and camaraderie that make our sailing community so special.
Long-time WOKC campaigners aboard Redeye, the Sun Fast 3600, delivered a superb performance to secure an impressive 2nd place overall, adding yet another chapter to their remarkable record at this fantastic event.
Meanwhile, newcomers aboard the J/80 Emoji embraced their very first regatta with enthusiasm and determination. The crew rose brilliantly to the challenge, gaining invaluable experience and proving that WOKC is the perfect environment for sailors looking to develop their racing skills.
Huge congratulations to both crews for their competitive spirit and achievements. A heartfelt thank you also goes to the boat owners and coaches whose generosity, encouragement and willingness to share knowledge and race tactics make opportunities like this possible.
The Women's Open Keelboat Championship continues to be a wonderful celebration of female sailing, combining high-quality racing with learning and friendship. Once again, BMYC members demonstrated what our club is all about supporting one another, developing skills and helping fellow sailors grow in confidence and capability.
Well done to everyone involved. We look forward to seeing these teams back on the start line again soon!
