RNLI & BMYC: How to be towed by RNLI

Getting Towed: Learn How from the RNLI
Sunday 10th August/ 13:30 (after racing)/ BMYC Clubhouse
Join BMYC and the RNLI for a practical, community-focused workshop covering the essentials of being towed at sea. And because RNLI's work doesn't end once you're safely ashore, we'll also share valuable insights into what happens after the tow, when both you and your vessel are back in harbour.
What to Expect:
- RNLI towing procedures and safety advice
- Behind-the-scenes rescue scenarios
- Post-rescue actions: insight into welfare checks and emergency response
Bonus: The RNLI pop-up shop will be open in the clubhouse, offering fundraising merchandise and safety gear.
This event is open to all sailors, local residents, and anyone curious about maritime safety. Let's build a stronger, safety-first sailing community together.
This event is hosted by passionate volunteers from BMYC and the RNLI people who care deeply about saving lives at sea and building community, no matter the politics or background.
We're proud to welcome Tim Kingston, RNLI crew member and proud BMYC supporter from Boatcare Sussex. He will lead the presentation, offering practical guidance on post-rescue technical support and maintenance - extending beyond RNLI rescue protocols.
No RSVP requiredjust turn up. If you know someone who'd enjoy this, please forward the invitation.
