Shorebased Training '24 » BMYC Road Trip!!!! (Elephant Boatyard & North Sails Sail Loft)

BMYC Cruising will be taking a roadtrip to visit the Elephant Boatyard in the hamble where they restore classic timber yachts and also visiting North Sails sail loft in Gosport on the way back!

Elephant Boatyard - we will get atour of the boatyard, a talk on the heritage, past projects and the master craftsmandship used there

NorthSails - One of the bigger sail lofts on the coast - we will geta tour and a talk on the newer inniovations in sail technologies.

0700: Depart Brighton Marina 1.5hrs drive

(own cars - pls share space to be more efficient!)

10:00 Elephant Boatyard - tour and talk

12:00 Lunch Jolly Sailor Burseldon

13:30 Drive to Fareham

14:00 North Sails

16:30 Depart for Brighton

18:45 Back at moorings in Brighton

Elephant Boatyard Bursledon

Elephant Boatyard is an amazing boatyard at the top of the Hamble - it is the site where the HMS Elephant was built i 1786 - this was Nelsons flagsjhip during the battle of Copenhagen in 1801. It has been a working boatyeard ever since and is steped in history, heritage and leegend!
