Cruising '26 » Summer Rally in Normandy (2 Weeks)

BMYC Cruising invites you to our landmark summer rally which will be exploring the ports and coast of Normandy

We have two rallys to choose from going to Normandy, one which is for a week and the other longer for two weeks. Choose the one that suits you best! The two rallies overlap and will hopefully meet in Deauville to return as a group to Brighton from St Valery en Caux

2 week rally - exploring Normandy

We depart from Brighton on the morning off July 25th meeting up in (or on buoys outside) Yarmouth

On 26th we set off for Cherbourg

27th is a rest day then we set off for a number of tidally locked ports - full details to be provided - but hopefully St Vaast, Carentan, Courselles, Dives sur Mer and Deauville/Trouville by 4th August where we meet our one week compatriots. From there it's on to St Valery en Caux (possibly stopping at le Havre) and then direct to Brighton. Our trip provides ample stops for shore side activities which is something we have been asked to include

Saturday 25/076 xx:00 Depart Brighton for Yarmouth

Sunday 26/07 xx:00 Depart Yarmouth to Cherbourg

Monday 27/07 Rest Day - Cherbourg

Tuesday 28/07 xx:00 Depart Cherbourg to StVaast - The first of the tidally gated ports along the coast. Most of these are fairly short hops - Not least because you need to get out at the start of One tidal gate and in by the end of the next

Wednesday 29/07 Rest day - StVaast

Thursday 30/07 xx:00 Depart St Vaast to Carentan

Friday 31/07 xx:00 Depart Carentan to Courselles

Saturday 01/08 Rest Day - A great opportunity to visit Juno Beach or the more energetic to cycle up to Pegasus Bridge or even Caen

Sunday 02/08 xx:00 Depart Courselles to Dives sur Mer

Monday 03/08 rest and explore the town and its twins Houlgate and Cabourg

Tuesday 04/08 xx:00 Dives sur Mer to Deauville/Trouville two rallys join!!

Wednesday 05/08 Rest Day And perhaps sample the delights of the awesome Trouville Fish market

Thursday 06/08St xx:00 Deauville/Trouville to StValery en Caux (Note that there could be a tidal challenge here and it may be worth stopping in Le Havre)

Friday 07/08 Rest Day - StValery en Caux

Saturday 08/08 xx:00 StValery en Caux to Brighton

1 week rally - exploring Normandy

Setting off on 1 August it's over to Dieppe and on 2nd we sail down to Fecamp. After a well-earned rest day on 3rd it's a hop over to Deauville/Troiville on 4th, where we meet our two weekers. After another rest it's on to St valery en Caux on 6th, then after another rest day it's back to Blighty on 8th.

Our trip provides ample stops for shore side activities which is something we have been asked to include. Much more detail to follow once we have provisional numbers and boat draughts (which affects choices of harbours)
