Safety

Racing Rules of Sailing (Rule 3) explains that it is the responsibility of the person-in-charge (of the boat) to decide whether, or not, to put to sea; BMYC Safety Regulations requires that, in arriving at such a decision, the person-in-charge must assess (i) prevailing weather conditions, and (ii) experience of the crew.

It is stressed that Competing owners and crews are expected to observe and embrace the provisions of BMYC Safety Regulations.
